It has been said that people will do whatever they like without religion. Some people actually believe that without scripture and "holy law" everyone would be immoral. I really disagree with that. I'm sorry the wording of that sentence wasn't strong enough. I think those people are morons. Nope not there yet. Anyone who believes that shouldn't have the right to vote, much less breed because they are too stupid to exist in a world where we have to have evidence to support our claims. So in response to that claim here is a list of morals that I came up with 'outside' of religion. This list encompasses every human interaction that could ever take place. Just out of common sense not some stupid list that some Jews and Romans came up with in the Bronze Age.
Virtues I admire & aspire to follow.
1. Never cause another person, personal harm. Whether that be physical, emotional, or mental harm, or harm pertaining to that individuals property or general well being.
2. Never make an effort to judge. Also don't impede another person or get involved in any conflict or altercation unless the individual you impede is violating the first virtue pertaining to you or anther individual or group.
3. Murder is never acceptable. The only time the death of another is accepted is through natural causes, by way of accident, or when the individual is killed by way of preventing the infraction of the first virtue. And only when there is no other way to prevent the infraction of the first virtue.
-When you kill somebody you not only kill who they are, but you also kill everything that individual would ever be & all of their accomplishments. You also violate the first virtue not only on their behalf, but on the behalf of everybody who knows them. You have committed the gravest of offenses. Life is precious. DO NOT TAKE THIS LIGHTLY.
Peace is the utmost goal to be achieved. Not only within yourself, but with your interactions with every living thing on the planet, human, animal & plant. If you can achieve this you will have achieved true transcendence.
